As a patient who has a ureteral stricture hx at the distal end..that wants to keep scarring and as a pt who has been trying to avoid the Psoas hitch surgery because of being a high risk surgery for this patient.. I really appreciate being able to read all about these things.

Thank you!

Hi -I hope you don't mind that I have blogrolled you.

I have quite the urology hx with a pesky ureter that wants to scar, regardless of ureteral stents.

I have been trying to avoid a psoas hitch surgery. The damaged ureter is at the distal end.

Anyway.. I am considered a high risk surgical patient and is why i have been trying to put it off since June 06.

And my problem was caused by my 1st kidney stone in 2004.

Then in early 06, I presented with sepsis, hydronephrosis and pyelonephritis. Had a reoccurence in June 08.

I am holding out for a miracle.. or who knows maybe some other treatment will become available that could help me avoid the surgery. I just don't feel the green light in my spirit yet..although I will say.. I am willing to relook at surgical info right now.

Although.. I will say.. I am thinking about the surgery more because I feel like my life is on hold...waiting for that proverbial other shoe to drop.

Anyway..as I was looking things up..I came across your blog.

I sincerely appreciated being able to read so much information on the ureter, surgeries, risks and complications.

21/2 yrs reading in med blogasphere..and your blog is the most comprehensive urology blog I have read... at least pertaining to my concerns.

It scared me too.. but I was still glad to be able to read about it.

I look forward to reading more of your urology posts. :)

Sorry I am off topic but wanted to be sure you get my comment.
